Handshake Mining Calculator

Handshake Mining Calculator

· based on Cryptohall24 data
The Handshake mining calculator shows you in seconds what an HNS miner earns at your electricity price: revenue, power costs and the break-even electricity price - based on the current network hashrate and the current price. The widget automatically relates your device, your electricity price and this network data to each other and shows the result in real time. Choose a model from the list or enter hashrate and power consumption freely, for example to check a quote you are currently reviewing.

How to use the calculator

Select your Handshake model at the top of the widget, for example the Antminer HS3, or enter hashrate and power consumption manually. Then enter your actual electricity price per kilowatt-hour - this is the lever with the greatest influence on the result. The calculator then shows you the estimated daily revenue in HNS and euros, the power costs and the break-even electricity price, i.e. the threshold up to which a device is calculated to be in profit. All figures are a calculation example with no guarantee, based on current network data according to Cryptohall24 - hashrate and price change constantly, so every calculation is a snapshot, not a promise of future earnings.

What determines Handshake earnings

Handshake is mined with specialised Blake2b+SHA3 ASICs, such as the Antminer HS3. Your share of the reward results from the ratio of your own hashrate to the network hashrate, multiplied by the emission and the current price. Handshake does not secure a pure payment network but a decentralised naming system: top-level domains are auctioned on-chain through the network, with bids placed in HNS. How the network hashrate develops around this relatively small network is explained on the Handshake network hashrate page.

Efficiency and electricity price as key levers

Besides network development, two factors determine how well a Handshake miner performs: the device's efficiency in joules per terahash and the electricity price used in the calculation. Older ASIC generations consume noticeably more power for the same hashrate than current models - the calculator makes this difference directly visible through the efficiency figure in joules per hashrate unit.

Mining at home or with hosting

Whether a Handshake miner pays off depends above all on the electricity price. Mining at home can work with an efficient device and cheap energy, for example surplus solar power; at typical German household electricity prices, on the other hand, the calculation quickly becomes tight - also because of operating noise and waste heat in living spaces. For professional operation outside your own four walls, Cryptohall24 hosts Handshake ASICs of the Antminer HS3 type in our partner data centres. Simply enter the electricity price relevant to you in the calculator to run your scenario. More on this at mining hosting at Cryptohall24.

FAQ
Do you have questions? You may well find the right answer here.

How accurate is the Handshake mining calculator?

The calculator uses daily updated network data from Cryptohall24's own monitoring - network hashrate and price. The results are snapshots: if the network hashrate or the price changes, the result changes too. The calculation does not come with any promise of future earnings.

Which Handshake miners can I calculate?

All common Blake2b+SHA3 ASICs, including the Antminer HS3 from Bitmain. Using the free-input option, you can also check devices that are not in the selection list - simply enter the hashrate and power consumption from the datasheet.

What electricity price should I use for the calculation?

Your actual price per kilowatt-hour is the most meaningful figure - it has the greatest influence on the result. The electricity price can be adjusted in the calculator at any time, for example to compare several locations or tariffs.

Why does my Handshake revenue change from day to day?

Your share of the reward depends on the ratio of your own hashrate to the total network hashrate - if the network hashrate rises, your share falls at the same output level, and vice versa. Details on the development of the network hashrate can be found on the Handshake network hashrate page.
