Description

The Bitmain Antminer L7 is an air-cooled Litecoin miner that Bitmain announced in June 2021 and has been shipping since November 2021. It is designed for the Scrypt algorithm, which mines Litecoin and Dogecoin in a single pass. Of the eight performance levels Bitmain produced between 7.8 and 9.5 GH/s, we carry the top five from 8.55 GH/s upwards, all at 360 joules per gigahash. The housing is the usual Antminer format with a built-in power supply, the unit weighs 13.5 kilograms and needs a single-phase connection at 200 to 240 volts.

Bitmain has tuned every level of the L7 to deliver 360 joules per gigahash, so power draw rises in step with hashrate.

Design, power connection and cooling of the L7

The L7 measures 370 × 195.5 × 290 mm, with the power supply inside the housing and already included in size and weight. Packed for shipping it comes to 570 × 316 × 430 mm and 15 kilograms. At 75 dB the unit is unsuited to living or office space and belongs somewhere the noise does not matter, or in a hosting facility. Operation is approved for intake air between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius, in storage the L7 tolerates minus 20 to 70 degrees, and humidity may rise to 90 percent as long as nothing condenses. The 3,078 to 3,420 watts leave the L7 as warm exhaust air and have to be ducted away.

The L7 takes single-phase power at 200 to 240 volts and 47 to 63 hertz. Up to 20 amps flow through two separate power cords rated at 10 amps each, a single cord is not enough. Network access runs through an RJ45 port at 10/100 Mbit.

Custom firmware for the L7 is available from Vnish and Hiveon, Braiins OS does not support Scrypt machines. Vnish adjusts clock and voltage per hashboard, downwards for lower consumption or upwards beyond the factory level, and keeps around two percent of the hashrate as its fee. Unlike Bitmain's Kaspa miners, the L7 needs no add-on card for this, the firmware is loaded from an SD card or via web upload, and without the SD card the Bitmain firmware boots again. On request we flash the firmware before shipping for 29.90 euros net per unit, which applies to machines you run yourself, not to miners in our hosting. Flashed units are excluded from warranty, at Bitmain as well as with us.

Comparison with the previous and the next generation of the L7

The predecessor is the Antminer L3+, Bitmain's first-generation Scrypt miner at 504 MH/s. It was followed by the Antminer L9, announced by Bitmain in spring 2024, and in September 2025 by the Antminer L11, which is also available air-cooled as the L11 Pro at 21 GH/s. The four machines compared:

  • Antminer L3+: 1,600 J/GH (504 MH/s at 800 W)
  • Antminer L7: 360 J/GH (8.55 to 9.5 GH/s at 3,078 to 3,420 W)
  • Antminer L9: 210 J/GH (16 GH/s at 3,360 W)
  • Antminer L11: 184 J/GH (20 GH/s at 3,680 W)

Compared with the L3+, the L7 multiplied the hashrate per unit almost twentyfold and needs only a good fifth of the power per gigahash. The L9 delivers around 70 percent more hashrate at almost the same power draw, and its energy per gigahash is a good 40 percent below the L7. The L11 pushes that figure down to 184 joules per gigahash, roughly half of the L7. From November 2021 until the L9 in summer 2024, the L7 was the only Scrypt machine in Bitmain's line-up. Verdict: Litecoin mining with the Antminer L7

The L7 is an extremely robust miner: in our hosting it has caused little trouble, just as little with our customers who mine on their own, and partners report very positively about it as well. Wherever the power supply is stable, the units run for months on end without anyone having to intervene. Converting the L7 to immersion cooling gets even more out of it: in an immersion bath the units run for years without failures.

Defects are rare on the L7, and if something does fail, it is a hashboard.

The L7 is one of the best Scrypt miners Bitmain has ever built and still runs reliably after years. On efficiency the L9 and L11 are ahead, so today the L7 suits cheap power, for instance from your own solar array, or an entry into Scrypt mining. How does buying a miner work?

The process is clear and done in a few steps: you enquire about the device you want, you receive a written quote with the final price from us, and as soon as you accept it, we issue the invoice. After full payment is received, we trigger the order and the hardware is on its way to you.

That way you know where you stand at every point - from quote to delivery, a continuously supported process with a personal contact.

How can I pay?

You can pay conveniently by bank transfer in euros, in crypto (Bitcoin or USDC) or in cash against a receipt.

As throughout our business, payment is in advance: we trigger the order as soon as payment has been received in full. That keeps the process clean and predictable for both sides.

Are there discounts for larger quantities?

Yes, discounts are possible for larger quantities. How large they are depends on several factors - the device, the quantity, the delivery location and the respective procurement conditions.

What is included in the delivery?

On modern ASIC miners the power supply is built firmly into the machine and is therefore always included - it does not have to be bought separately. An external power supply only existed with very old first-generation models.

So you receive a ready-to-run device. Whatever else specifically belongs to the respective product is stated in the product description; in case of doubt we clarify it in the quote.

Is the miner in stock and how quickly is it delivered?

You can see availability directly on the product; in case of doubt we confirm it in the quote. The majority of our hardware is located in our main warehouse in Hong Kong and is shipped from there directly to your destination.

Individual devices are in stock in Germany (Hamm) - those reach you particularly quickly. We state the concrete delivery date bindingly in the quote, as soon as device and destination are clear.

How is it delivered - internationally and with customs clearance too?

We deliver worldwide. We handle the shipping and the complete import processing including customs clearance for you - you don't have to deal with it yourself. We state the shipping costs transparently in the quote.

That way the miner arrives ready to use at your place or the desired site. On request we deliver directly to our hosting, then the device goes into operation without a detour.

What requirements do I need for operation?

To operate at home or in your own business you mainly need three things: a suitable power connection (ASIC miners draw several kilowatts continuously, large devices often three-phase power), enough space with ventilation, and a stable internet connection via LAN.

On top of that come noise and waste heat: air-cooled devices are very loud and heat the room noticeably. Anyone who doesn't meet these requirements usually has the miner hosted - then we take care of power, cooling and operation.

How do I set up the miner and can I get help?

Commissioning is straightforward: connect the device, plug it into the network and configure it to your mining pool and wallet. After that the miner runs around the clock.

We don't leave you alone with it - we support you with setting up pool and wallet and the first steps, even without prior experience. Your personal contact is available for questions.

What warranty do I have on the device?

As a German company we offer you 12 months' warranty on your hardware as standard.

Alternatively, you can exclude the warranty in the purchase contract and handle it via the manufacturer's warranty - then the device becomes cheaper. We offer both routes; which one makes sense for you we clarify in the quote.

Can I have this miner hosted directly instead of running it myself?

Yes. You can buy the device from us and have it hosted in the same step - then it runs at a site with low-cost electricity, without noise and heat at your home.

As a business customer, can I cancel or return?

We sell our devices to businesses (B2B). A statutory consumer right of withdrawal therefore does not apply in B2B business; in addition, we procure and import the hardware specifically for your order.
