Is your mining rig broken and you need a mining rig repair?

Cryptohall24 is a long-time expert in crypto mining and your ideal partner if you have problems with your mining rig.

Your mining rig won't start or boot, what now?

The following steps serve as a guide to quickly localize the fault.

1. Switch off the power

Before you start repairing the mining rig, you should first unplug the cold device plug (the power cable that goes into the power supply) so that there are no short circuits during the repair that could damage the rig.

2. Check whether all plugs are correctly fitted and check all cables for damage

Now you should check whether all cables and plugs are correctly in their connectors, for example riser cables are often loose or the wires of the start button can easily break. To do this, you should make sure that there are no rough grains of dust or metallic objects on or under the mainboard. These can often be the reason why a mainboard does not boot.

You should also definitely check the cables for possible scorched areas, including the ends in the power supply. If a rig does not boot, it may also be because a contact is scorched and the power supply does not provide power for safety reasons to prevent a fire. However, the failure to boot can also be due to other components, such as a defective GPU riser.

3. Booting the rig

If all connectors fit correctly and there are no signs of damage, remove all graphics cards from your mainboard and try booting without graphics cards (some mainboards require a graphics card for this, then install a card). When the rig boots, connect a monitor to the mainboard (if there is no HDMI/VGA port on the board, install a graphics card and connect the monitor there) - and to step 4.

If the rig still doesn't boot, you should remove all components (GPUs, risers, SSD, additional fans,...) that are not necessary for the start and try to start again. When the rig starts, install the individual components one by one and see which hardware is preventing the start - and then try it out again with a spare part.

If the rig still doesn't start, there could be a defect in the mainboard (including CPU or, more rarely, RAM) or power supply. Then we recommend testing these components individually as well.

4. Boot via boot menu

If you get a picture now, you will most likely see the boot start screen. In the vast majority of cases, you will now be asked whether you want to boot with the previous settings. You should confirm this and then the rig should start normally. In other cases, you can simply follow the steps in the boot menu.

If the mainboard does not find a bootable Windows or Hive OS version, then you need to see if your SSD or operating system partition is defective.

Now the mining rig should usually start normally again.
